1/10/12 - Key highlights for week commencing 16th September: The key highlights included 90003 being used as the Colchester thunderbird at Greater Anglia; 90048 was hired to Virgin Trains & 90044 failed nth of Crewe on a liner train.

1/10/12 - Leaf-fall timetable at Greater Anglia started today: The leaf-fall timetable at Greater Anglia operates between the 1 October & 7 December 2012 inclusive. All services until 07:40 from Norwich to London depart 5 minutes earlier.

1/10/12 - Scotrail Sleeper Diversions during the month of November: The Glasgow Central to London Euston Lowland sleeper (1m11) will be diverted & re-timed on selective days in November - no other Scotrail services will be affected.

3/10/12 - Transport Minister cancels the West Coast franchise: The Transport Minister announced on the 3rd October that the West Coast franchise contract awarded to FirstGroup in August would now be cancelled due to DfT failings.

5/10/12 - 90047 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 5th October 2012, 90044 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.

11/10/12 - 90004 involved in a hotbox incident in the Shenfield area: On the morning of 11th October 90004 and a set of stock was working the 10:00 LST-NRW (1p18) when lineside equipment detected a hotbox issue with the said train.

12/10/12 - Scotrail Sleeper services dragged from Carstairs: Owing to an operating incident involving a pair of class 86s the day before south of Carstairs the day before which brought the OHLE down, some sleepers needed to be dragged.

12/10/12 - 90043 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 12th October 2012, 90043 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.

12/10/12 - 90048 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: On the evening of Friday 12th October 2012, 90048 was hired to Virgin Trains after replacing 90043 at Crewe off 1K39 which needed an exam. 90048 on the other hand returned sth.
